Yesterday my wife and I took an impromptu trip after work and went to Michaux State Forest in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. Michaux is the largest forest we’ve ever been to.
This is the beginning of May which means trees like many other animals are beginning to cease hibernation and waking up to reclaim their territories after a long winter. Trees are growing and making the landscape great again.

The forest is getting thicker and beautiful just the way I like. This is the time I’ve been waiting for since the beginning of winter. I always get tired of winter in the first couple of months and just wish that I could hibernate the rest.

This forest has lakes, creeks, fishing spots, trails, and animals, of course. We encountered a baby snake while walking on the trail.

This and every other state operated parks and forests are well maintained and provide a getaway from busy urban life, thanks to DCNR. Being there for a moment gives a fresh beginning.

A full immersion of nature is what sometimes we need to get a jumpstart. Every time I entered a natural place like this I left feeling better.

The mountains blanketed by trees and the valleys holding a lake, humans couldn’t create this place. It took nature millions of years to perfect this design and it’s still working on it so slow our eyes can’t notice.

Nature made itself available to us for free, it’s our moral duty to protect it so generations after generations can enjoy it.

You keep growing. We’ll surely meet again!
