Florida Trip: Cocoa Beach

Travel date: November 22, 2021

My wife and I were wanting to go to Florida for a few years now. Finally, all the planets aligned this month and we were able to take the trip.

Overpopulated airports during Thanksgiving holidays and TSA’s extra scrutiny of baby foods during our last flight left us choosing train to Florida. We traveled on Amtrak Auto Train with our car and everything extra we needed for the baby. No baggage limits!

Amtrak Coach seats. The total journey takes about 16-17 hours from Virginia to Florida. You better be comfortable in these seats. Some info-there’s an onboard dining, bathrooms are like that in the airplane, both stations have kids play ground, and cabins gets really cold at night

It was a convenient to have our own car while traveling in Orlando and Cape Canaveral areas. Didn’t need to hunt for a car seat.

Amtrak Auto Train is two-stories for passengers and cars. Cars are loaded onto the carriages and attached at the end of passenger carriages, together they make the Amtrak Auto train the longest passenger train in the world, ours was nearly a mile long. A section of the train is visible in this photo

We visited Cocoa Beach on Monday, the 22nd which was, coincidentally, also my birthday. My wife and son wished me under the warm equatorial Sun on the beach with an engraving on the sands.

“Happy Birthday BABA”

The Cocoa Beach was a few steps away from the hotel where we stayed and the hotel room gave us an uninterrupted view of the vast ocean that looked like an infinite pool of water draining on the other edge of the earth.

We found not many beachgoers on the beach that day but there was no shortage of excitement who did go. While the ocean water kept our feet cold, the temperate breeze gave us warmth under the Floridian Sun. We enjoyed the beach for a few hours before heading to the hotel and rested and prepared for the next big day.
