Website domain name change

My website URL snoyon.xyz will transition to bluenoyon.com in coming days. However, snoyon.xyz will remain functional until May 2020 and redirect visitors to bluenoyon.com.

Dot xyz domain is fairly new and has been around for only a few years. Although it’s getting popularity, it’s still confusing to a lot of people whether .xyz represents a website. People don’t readily recognize something ending in .xyz to be a website. It’s also hard to remember and type on a keyboard.

Whereas .com domain name has been around ever since the invention of internet. There’s a world wide recognition for .com domain. A website ending in .com is easier to remember.

Also, considering my long-term vision for the blog, I felt that .com will better serve my website. This is a part of re-branding my blog.

The blog’s contents and it’s subscribers will not be affected in any way during this transition.
